ICT and Digital Technologies

Teachers at South Coogee Primary School understand the importance of seamlessly integrating technology into their everyday classroom practice. This is achieved through a whole school approach to delivering the ICT General Capability and the Technologies Curriculum.

In 2024 Digital Technologies is now a specialist subject area offered from PP to Year 6.

Each classroom is fitted with the latest innovative technology. This includes desktop computers, an Interactive Whiteboard and a bank of iPads. Students also have access to NXT and EV3 Mindstorms Robotics equipment, Dash and Dot robots, a bank of Rasberry Pi’s, Sphero robots, Bee Bots and a DJI Phantom Pro 4 drone. In addition, we also have a BYOD (bring your own device) program in place for students from Years’ 3-6.

The use of technology is an integral part of learning across all areas. This is assisted by our Network Support Officer, Pardeep, who works Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays supporting students and staff with ICT.
