Following an external verification of the National Quality Standards (NQS) conducted by the Office of Early Childhood Development and Learning. We were delighted to be informed that we meet all 7 Quality Areas for NQS. This is testament to the hard work and dedication of our early childhood education (ECE) staff in providing high quality education programs for your children.
All staff collaboratively plan based on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines (Kindergarten only) and the Western Australian Curriculum. Staff focus on explicit teaching (what needs to be taught), intentional teaching (activities with focused intention), in a play based ‘hands on’ environment. Activities are based on the children’s needs and interests.
The Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines guide our teachers in developing a kindergarten program that meets the individual needs of your children. The guidelines draw on the key ideas from the EYLF, promoting high quality teaching, learning and assessment practices. The 5 Outcomes of the EYLF are:
IDENTITY – Children have a strong sense of identity.
CONNECTING and CONTRIBUTING – Children are connected with and contribute to their world.
WELLBEING – Children have a strong sense of wellbeing.
LEARNING and THINKING – Children are confident and involved learners.
COMMUNICATING – Children are effective communicators.
