Early Childhood

All staff collaboratively plan using the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), the Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines (for Kindergarten), and the Western Australian Curriculum. Our approach emphasises explicit teaching—making clear what students need to learn—and intentional teaching, where activities are designed with a clear purpose. Learning takes place within a play-based, hands-on environment that nurtures curiosity, exploration and discovery.

Activities are thoughtfully designed around each child’s needs, interests and developmental stage, ensuring learning is meaningful and engaging.

Our practice is also guided by the National Quality Standards (NQS), which support high-quality learning environments, strong relationships, effective leadership and continuous improvement. These standards underpin our commitment to providing safe, responsive and enriching early childhood education for every child.

The Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines guide our teachers in developing a kindergarten program that meets the individual needs of your children. The guidelines draw on the key ideas from the EYLF, promoting high quality teaching, learning and assessment practices. The 5 Outcomes of the EYLF are:

Social and emotional development is at the heart of our Early Childhood Philosophy. We are committed to nurturing a strong sense of identity, confidence and wellbeing in every child through high-quality, engaging learning programs.

Students in Kindergarten to Year 2 experience a rich and diverse curriculum that sparks curiosity and builds strong foundations for future learning. They explore English and Mathematics, express themselves through Music and Visual Arts, and develop healthy habits and physical skills through Health and Physical Education. Their understanding of the world grows through Humanities and Social Sciences, Science, and Design and Digital Technologies, with Indonesian introduced in Year 2 to broaden their global awareness.
