From the Principal Issue 14

Happy Fathers Day to all our fathers, grandfathers and carers for Sunday. I know that the Kindergarten has had some lovely mornings with a whole range of people celebrating . I have also seen some beautiful gifts which have been hand made with lots of love while I have been walking round the school!

Our choir did us proud on Tuesday night at the WAGSM Concert. Congratulations to the girls and boys. Ms Barnes prepared our children with simple and effective costumes, hand made by her, and chose a catchy compilation which had the audience clapping along. Her work with the choir is outstanding and parents have told me how much they appreciate that she volunteers her time so generously. Thanks to Mrs Bux, Ms Simon and Mr Wheatley who helped on the night. Ms Barnes tells me that Mr Wheatley organised the music as well.

Mrs Bux is painting the sea container with Year 5 and 6 girls and boys with the help of Luke Scott our gardener. Paint for this exercise has been supplied by Cockburn Cement.

Please make sure you look at the doors of all classrooms to see the book theme decorations. The doors are colourful and thoughtfully done and deserve to be seen by everybody. You will also see the teachers’ favourite books thanks to Ms Spears.

The ECE playground is out of bounds after school. This includes the mud kitchen. This is tidied up after lunch ready for the next day, and it is disappointing when it is used inappropriately after school .

Our Pre-Primary children visited the Zoo yesterday and today Year 6 is going to Woodman’s Point, and our Year 3 students are going to Caversham Wildlife Park.

We are looking into changing the format of the newsletter so it is more accessible to parents. We will keep you posted.

Sports Carnival is next week. Mr Gough still needs helpers if you are available, even if it is for a limited time.

Kind regards

Lyn Beard
