Dear Parents and Caregivers

Welcome back after the term break. This is an extremely busy, but short 9 week term.

Please note that the Assembly which was scheduled for next week, May 11 will now be held on Week 3 due to many students and staff being out of the school on excursions next Friday. We apologise for the inconvenience to parents of children in C3, but this will provide them with more practice time.

Edu-dance has begun for Years 2, 4 and 6. As Dance is part of the mandated Western Australian Arts Curriculum it is expected that all children should attend. It is not too late for children to join this important part of the curriculum. Payment options (eg weekly) can be arranged at the front office.

NAPLAN testing will take place in Week 3 for students in Years 3 and 5. Parents can assist theirchildren by keeping a calm approach to these tests, ensuring that children get a good night’s sleepand providing them with a good breakfast especially on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of that week.

ANZAC: Our school presented a wreath at the Cockburn RSL before the holidays and then we had an ANZAC service at school on Tuesday. Mr and Mrs Cleak attended to represent the RSL and gave informative speeches about the animals involved in service during wars. The service was run by our very able Student Representatives and the Choir ensured this was a very engaging service.

Kind regards

Lyn Beard Principal
