Dear Parents and Carers
Thank you to all parents and carers who are either active members of the P&C or support their fundraising during the year. This year you have all contributed to the new sound system in the undercover area, to the yet to be installed permanent shade between the undercover area and Coastlands and a stunning shade shelter for athletics carnivals. The P&C are now collecting money for a sausage sizzle next Monday and for Fathers’ Day gifts. They are planning a cake stall for the Faction Carnival and a Colour Run for Term 4. You can see that by supporting them by being involved you are helping your child/ren have a great place to learn.
Jeans for Genes Day
We consider it important for our students to support worthwhile causes in the wider community. Recently, by participating in Jeans for Genes Day, the children raised $479.10. Well done everyone.
Learning Journey day reimagined
Now that Phase 4 of COVID 19 is continuing for a longer time, it is not practicable to have our Learning Journeys for all classes at the same time. The school will not be having a whole school Learning Journey day. Your child’s teacher will be in touch with you and will be organising times for you to see your child’s work or to have a brief interview with them.
These may be delayed due to COVID interrupting imports and deliveries. Cherie and Lilly are parent volunteers. They order uniforms, man the uniform store, unpack and give them to children in their classes all in their own time. We are very grateful for the work they do, and ask that you be patient during this difficult time. When you order on Flexischools, delivery is still reliant on stock arriving from the manufacturer. If you have a query in regards to uniforms, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. The Uniform Shop is open Wednesday mornings from 9 am until all available orders are filled.
We are planning for this to go ahead with Field Events –jumps and throws – on the Tuesday 15th September and the main carnival on the Friday 18th September. Due to COVID-19 Phase 4 parents must stay away from the children behind ropes.
The school is a member of the Fathering Project. Mr Gough sends the information out to staff regularly to use themselves or to share with their children. This time, there is a particularly relevant article about bullying and how bystanders to bullying can work to become ‘upstanders’ which you parents may like to have a look at and share with your children.

Did you hear the news? We have welcomed a new member to our school community – “Moogee” the cow. The Picasso Cow program has been implemented in over 1 000 Australian schools since 2008 and we are very fortunate to finally adopt one. Together with Ms Barnes, Mr Smith and Mrs Bux, the year 4 students will design and paint Moogee depicting the theme of “Farm to Plate”. Through this innovative and engaging program, all the year 4 students will learn all about the Australian dairy industry, from how milk goes from the farm to plate to the important health and nutrition benefits dairy delivers.
We look forward to entering this “A-moo-sing” competition.
From the Arts Committee
We are VERY fortunate to have been given a cancellation spot for our Edu-dance Programme. The year 2, 4 and 6 students will be doing their Edu-dance classes in Term 4, weeks 1-8, with the Concert on Thursday 10th December (week 9).
The paperwork has not been finalised as yet, but last year’s cost was $30 per student, so hopefully it will be around that price. But, a timely “heads-up” to start saving those $2 coins now.
Looking forward to the Concert already!
