From the Principal – AIR 19th June

Dear Parents and Carers

Your children have been happy to have school back to what is nearly ‘normal’. Sports, playgrounds, and classes are operating as they were at the beginning of the year. We are still working on the 100/300 rule, as there have been no further changes. We were pleased to be able to invite parents from Year 2 Wetlands 5 this morning to their child’s assembly while still complying to this rule.

Parents are still not allowed on site except by invitation, for formal meetings, enrolments or by arrangement to collect children from the office. This is to comply with this 100 person limit inside, and 300 limit outside.

We will be running a whole school cross country competition on the last Friday of term in the morning. Children will be run off year by year in groups. Parents of year groups can watch on the oval. An approximate timetable will be sent home closer to the time. You might like to encourage your child to get fit for this event.

Reports will be sent home on the Wednesday of the last week of term. There will be no A to E marks as suggested by the Department of Education, but comments will inform you of your child’s progress.

Thank you to your P&C for funding half of our new sound system. This system cost close to $18,000 so you can see this was a generous support for what we know will improve all our school activities and ensure that parents hear them clearly.  Our boys are also enjoying completely renovated toilets.  This is courtesy of School Maintenance Blitz.

The Professional Learning/Pupil Free Day next term will be on the 7th August. Please put this in your calendar. Children will return to school on July 20 next term.

Enjoy your weekend everyone.
Kind regards
Lyn Beard
