From the Principal AIR 1st May 2020

Dear Parents and Carers

South Coogee has had a very happy week with 84% of our students back. Teachers have also tried to contact students who are not at school. Most of our staff are here except for Mr McNamara and Mrs Martin. We are lucky to have Mr Sam Fisher in Coastlands 5 for the first 2 or 3 weeks. Everyone is tired but smiling!

This week we had our ANZAC ceremony which was capably run by our student representatives. Students watched in class on a WEBEX link to maintain safe distancing. Ms Barnes sang a very moving song and led the classes in the National Anthem. It is on our South Coogee PS Facebook page and available on the website and on Youtube. https://youtu.be/RHGdB1AADOY.  Well done girls and boys.

Students and staff have coped admirably with the routine of regular washing of hands and physical distancing. Our cleaning time has been increased to enable regular sanitising of playground equipment, door handles and toilets.

Thank you to all of you who are assisting us in managing our school for student and staff safety by dropping off and picking up students from outside the school fence. It is still important though that you maintain social distancing between you and other parents. It is also important that you cross the road with Bruce. This may not seem important at the moment, but we need to maintain that habit for students in the future.

Enjoy your weekend everyone.
Kind regards
Lyn Beard
